中國的現(xiàn)代化建設(shè)必須從中國的實際出發(fā)。無論是革命還是經(jīng)濟(jì)建設(shè)，都要注意學(xué)習(xí)國外經(jīng)驗。但是照搬照抄別國經(jīng)驗、別國模式，我們不能取得成功。中國的事情要按中國的情況來辦，要依靠中國人自己的力量來辦。無論過去、現(xiàn)在和將來，獨立自主、自力更生都是我們的立足點。任何國家不要指望中國做他們的附庸（vassal），不要指望中國會吞下?lián)p害我們利益的苦果。
China’s modernization should be based on the reality. We need to learn the experience from foreign countries not only on revolution but also on the economic construction. But we will never succeed if we mechanically copy other countries’ experience or patterns. We should deal with China’s affairs according to the Chinese situation with our own strength. No matter in the past, at present or in the future, independence and self-reliance are always our standpoint. No country can count on China being its vassal, and swallowing the bitter fruit that will impair our country’s interests.
