中國正在與17個國家協商，要把高鐵網絡（high-speed railway network）延伸到這些國家。這些國家大多數礦產和能源資源都很豐富。這些線路將會按照中國高鐵建設標準來鋪設，最高時速可達350 千米。中國承諾為他們提供技術、設備和高速列車，甚至為那些愿意向中國提供自然資源的國家承擔建設費用。目前，中俄兩國已經就修建跨越西伯利亞（Siberia）的高鐵路線達成了一致意見。
China is negotiating with 17 countries about extending the high-speed railway network to their territory. Most of them are rich in mineral and energy resources. These rails will be built by China’s high-speed railway standard. The maximum speed can reach 350 kilometers per hour. China has promised to provide them with the technique, equipment and high-speed trains, and even cover the construction cost for the countries that are willing to offer China natural resources. At present, China and Russia have already agreed on building a high-speed line across Siberia.
