我的窗前有一棵樹。那是一棵高大的洋槐。樹冠差不多可達六層的樓頂。粗壯的樹干與三層的陽臺相齊，碧綠而茂密的樹葉部分正對著我的四樓的窗戶。坐在我的書桌前，一樹濃陰收入眼底。從春到秋，由晨至夜，任是著意的或是不經意抬頭，終是滿眼的賞心悅目，那樹想必已生長了多年，我們還沒搬來的時候，它就站立在這里了，或許，我還沒出生的時候，它就已成為一棵樹了。
There is a tree in front of my window. It is a tall locust tree, and its canopy reaches almost to the top of the six-storey building. Its thick trunk is rightly leveled with the balcony of the third floor, and its green and thick leaves are facing my window on the fourth floor. Sitting at the desk, I can have a panoramic view of the thick leaves. From spring to autumn, and day to night, I can always have a pleasing eye of the tree as I raise my head intentionally or casually. I guess that the tree had grown up for many years, because it had been standing here before we moved here. Perhaps, it had been a tree before I was born.
