皮影戲(the shadow puppetry)又稱“影子戲”,是中國(guó)著名民問(wèn)戲劇形式之一。表演時(shí)藝人通常一邊演唱一邊操縱用獸皮或紙板制作的人物形象。它們的影子通過(guò)燈光映在簾布上,這營(yíng)造了有人物在活動(dòng)的幻象。有時(shí)表演者需要控制三四個(gè)人偶。皮影戲在我國(guó)歷史悠久,元代時(shí)還曾傳到世界上很多國(guó)家,迷倒了不少國(guó)外戲迷。
The shadow puppetry, also known as “shadow play”, is one of China’s famous folk opera forms. During the performance, players usually sing while manipulating human figures, which are made of animal skins or paper boards. The shadows of those human figures are reflected on a curtain through the light. This creates the illusion of moving images. Sometimes the performer needs to control three or four puppets. The shadow puppetry enjoys a long history in China. It was introduced to many countries during the Yuan Dynasty and attracted many foreign audience.
