Shenyi is a representative style of traditional hanfu, featuring an integrated design that combines the upper and lower halves into a long robe. The term “shenyi”, which literally means “ deep and long clothes”, refers to the practice of wrapping the body deeply in fabric. The design of shenyi is loose, with long sleeves and a long skirt which can fully cover the wearer’s skin, exuding elegance and dignity. As a traditional dress, shenyi has a history of thousands of years and contains a strong Chinese cultural style. Especially during the Qin and Han dynasties, it became the prevalent attire of the time, exerting an extensive and lasting influence on Chinese traditional society.
