West Lake, a shining inland pearl, is located in the west of Hangzhou City, the capital of Zhejiang Province. Covering an area of 5.6 square kilometers, it is dotted with numerous temples, pagodas, gardens, and artificial islands. With its picturesque landscape and precious historical relics, West Lake inspired many poets and painters throughout the ages. After appreciating the intoxicating scenery of West lake, even Su Shi, a great poet from the Song Dynasty, likened the lake to Xizi, one of the four beauties of ancient China. Now, West Lake has become a popular tourist attraction at home and abroad.
