As the end of labor-intensive enterprises is at hand, what does it mean for China and the world? Contrary to the conventional thinking, it does not mean that foreign companies will close their factories in China and turn to countries with a cheaper labor force. In fact, China is a terrific place to make things. The labor force may be cheaper in other countries, yet it is only one part of the numerous costs. Unlike its rivals, China has necessary infrastructure, mature supply chains and the advantage of scale. Hence China still has huge potential for development.
